Lydney Hospital Fete 2010
This year's Lydney Hospital Fete was held on the 17th of July 2010.
It was a day full of laughter and smiles as hundreds of people, who had made their way to the hospital, enjoyed the festivities.
There was something to cater for all ages. From testing your luck on the raffles and guessing games to testing your skills on the hoopla, putting or skittles.
There were shows displayed by the Severnside Cygnets and the Boogie Nights Dance Company on the main stage.
Lydney State Circus were also present to entertain the crowds. And, of course, with the presence of circus performers there had to be a clown which came in the shape of Fillipo, who was wandering around with his balloon animals and Old English Sheep dog.
Members from the Lydney Dramatic Society were strutting their stuff in Arabian costumes, which turned at least a couple of heads.
There were also a local produce tent, a cake stall, a plant stall, various games, nail painting and a giant cuddly dog.
Of course, if any of this became too much, there was a chance to sit down with a cup of tea and home made cakes and listen to the melodious tones of Pillowell band.
The day was a great success and around £13,000 was raised in aid of Lydney Hospital
Many thanks to all who were involved.

A photo has been found, featuring the Forest of Dean Hospitals House Committee from 1966.
They were the people in charge of the Forest hospitals before the NHS stepped in.
There were 3 Forest Hospitals then. They were the Lydney Hospital, the Dilke and a hospital in Lydbrook.
The photo has been framed and has been hung by the Baroness Royall of Blaisdon in the reception of Lydney Hospital Outpatients. It is now available for viewing.
